In Conversation with Dani Admiss for Revisions at PEER, London

I shared a conversation with Dani Admiss of Sunlight Doesn't Need a Pipeline to discuss some of the overlaps in our practices on working towards climate justice, outside of and with arts institutions. I also discussed the broader issues in the perception of climate arts as being about 'sustainability', by outling current research projects on climaet history, colonialism and greenwashing militarism.

'Visualising Data and Investigating Images' with the Social Data School with Cambridge Digital Humanities

For the Social Data School, I applied with the beginnings of my research project, Critiquing a ‘Sustainable Military’, which examines the UK Ministry of Defence’s climate change framing, whose aims set to achieve a net-zero “sustainable military” by 2050. The talk sessions and hands-on workshops throughout the Social Data School gave me insights into digital methods, investigative and journalistic methods of approaching my research beyond my usual arts practice methodologies. Lead Artist for Groundwater - King’s Culture Climate Collective's First Creative Climate Change Project at KCL

Groundwater is the KCCC project running from January to the end of March 2023. Across the term, my work with the students included informal seminars introducing the concepts of climate justice in relation to colonial histories, resource scarcity and power, while practical workshops included sketchbooking moments, zinemaking, speed-sculpting and shaping a space for the students to collectively hone their ideas into artwork proposals and production, towards a final public exhibition 'Superbloom' at Bush House, on the Strand.
